THE LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN TURKISH LAW
It seems that it shall be the important new changeovers in Turkish Law, in this new judicial season in 2004.
The efforts related to be part of European Union, corruption and raiding shall be the main changeovers to be regulated and resolved in the reorganisation of Turkish legal system.
In order to accelerate the legal proceeding, it shall be resolved the problems related to the personnel and equipment of the courts. Also, it shall be the new developments regarding duration of the legal proceeding.
The UBAK Project, regarding sharing the data by computer between Turkish Public Authority and Turkish Judgement Foundation shall be commenced in 2005. By this project, the courts and lawyers shall share the public data very fast and the differences among the decisions of courts shall be reduced.
Due to the changes which has been commenced in previous government period, regarding the changes the Constitution and basic codes in order to be part of European Union shall be also continued by Erdogan Cabinet.
The Turkish legal circles believe that it shall be also some new changes related to Penal Law. The main changes in the new Penal Code shall be related to the technological crimes and updating the Penal Code which is adopted in 1930.
The legal proceedings and regulations which prevent the privatisation procedure shall be also changed.
The procedure of establishment of the corporation and bureaucratic problems have been changed in order for facilitating the procedures of foreign investment in Turkey. The changes regarding the Tax System is almost completed.
It shall be the new regulations regarding reducing the bureaucracy and reforms of public administration, following to increasing the revenue of the Municipality.
We believe that, these changeovers regarding to resolve the problems of Turkish legal system which has been expected during the last 30-40 years shall be successful.
